William R. Whitbeck, born August 14, 1931 and passed peacefully after a brief illness on November 9, 2021. Survived by his best friend Sherry Monahan, children Don (Bonnie Rose), Lynn (Larry Kerst), Chris, and grandchildren Alex, Cady and Lauren. William (Bill) was born in Buffalo NY, educated at Ridley College and Lehigh University where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Society and a proud US Navy veteran.
Bill moved to Toronto in 1955 to join Wood Gundy, rising to Vice President and Director until he joined Scotiabank in 1983, retiring as Senior Vice President, Investments. Bill retired to Naples FL to enjoy 2-3 years of retirement which lasted 28. Past member of The Toronto Golf Club, The Royal Canadian Yacht Club and Windemere Country Club.
Funeral Service to be held at Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge St. Toronto, on November 19, 2021 with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Salvation Army.
