John Walter Jordan, VL ’50

John Walter Jordan, age 95, passed away peacefully May 18, 2021. Born in Bethlehem, PA on May 22, 1925, he was the son of Walter and Mildred Jordan. Mr. Jordan was a Lt. in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. As a graduate of Lehigh University and member of the Kappa Alpha Society, he went on to have a career in pharmaceutical research. While at Lehigh he was also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies and the the Mustard & Cheese Drama Society.
He was active in the Washington Square West Civic Association and Philadelphia Elections Board. He enjoyed summers in Barnegat, NJ, gardening, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. John was predeceased in death by his sister, Jane Kahn, and by his life partner of 45 years, Bill Rilea. John is survived by his niece, Lisa Fellows, as well as many friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Philadelphia Orchestra.
