James "Larry" Smith III was born September 14, 1943 in Bethlehem, PA, to James L. Smith Jr. and Virginia Sordon. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Gehris Smith, of 61 years; his daughters, Holly Smith Peterson of Fort Myers, Heather L.S.Holmes (husband, Bryan Storey) of Ypsilanti, MI; Grandchildren Lily, Kirin, Flynn and Megan; and his brother Roy Louis Smith.
Larry was a competitive swimmer, lifeguard and Eagle Scout. He graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in economics. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Spciety. His entire career was spent with the Procter & Gamble Company as a global plant purchasing manager.He was an ordained deacon in The Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Larry was a loving husband to his wife, "Betsy" and devoted father to his daughters. He loved reading, golf, skiing, the beach, fishing and traveling with "Betsy".
